Get to know Chambersburg Area outfielder, Millersville University commit Hunter Stevens
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS) student, Hunter Stevens, is currently a senior at CASHS. He grew up loving baseball, starting to play when he was just 5 years old. His parents signed him up for tee ball, and he’s been playing ever since.
Stevens has played a few different positions, including outfield and first base, and used to play as pitcher. Following high school, he’s committed to playing the outfield position at Millersville University, and goes into college primarily with a focus on baseball as he is currently undecided in what major he will take up.
This month, next to playing his favorite sport, he looks forward to turkey hunting and fishing, two of his other favorite pastimes. He also looks forward to watching the Washington Nationals play, his favorite team. “I’d be happy to play anywhere at that level someday,” Stevens comments. “To play in MLB is the ultimate goal.”
Stevens could achieve that with the support of his mom, dad, and sister along the way. He also keeps some key thoughts in mind, and offers the following advice to any aspiring baseball players: “If you want to play at a high level of baseball, you need to put in the work on and off the field. Get in the gym! Also, put 100% effort in everything you’re doing, whether that’s on the field, in the gym, or even in the classroom.”
