Red Bank Regional football captain Cian Curylo soon to play at Marshall

LITTLE SILVER, N.J. — A lot of people don’t know what they want to do after high school. Others have a slight idea. For Cian Curylo, he knew what he wanted to do since the beginning. A senior at Red Bank Regional High School, Cian is going to play Division 1 football at Marshall University in West Virginia.
Ever since he was little, he used to go on about wanting to play football in his adulthood. After playing every sport he could at once, it started to get a little overwhelming. One day, his father sat him down and asked what sport he liked playing the most. From that moment on, Cian concentrated exclusively on football.

When he was five, his first focus on the sport itself was playing Flag Football. When he was in eighth grade, he participated in tryouts for an All-Star team to go to Orlando to compete in the national championship. To his and his family’s delight, he made it and was the only resident around the Red Bank area to do so.

A Varsity captain of the Red Bank Regional football team, Cian plans to pursue a career related to football. “He really wants to be in the business somehow,” his mother, Cheryl, says. “And I think he’ll make great connections at Marshall.”

Always a team player, Cian enjoys the camaraderie and competition in the sport, as well as getting in the zone. Having been a Little Silver resident his entire life, he knows he can bring that team spirit to the field as he tackles his new journey at Marshall.
