The Sooners had a successful NFL Draft

NORMAN, Okla. (BVM) – This year’s NFL draft was very successful for the Oklahoma Sooners football program. It was also a shock that no players from Oklahoma were drafted until the second round, especially since mock drafts showed otherwise. Nonetheless, Oklahoma continues to be a substantial gateway for players that go into the NFL.

Some of those highlighted players included Nik Bonito, who was taken with pick No. 64 for the Denver Broncos. Brain Asamoah was also another talented player that was taken. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings, who had the No. 66 pick. Other players selected in the draft were Perrion Winfrey, Michael Woods and Delarrin Turner-Yell.

Some surprising names were not to have their names called during the NFL Draft. But they were able to sign with teams following the draft. Those included running back Kennedy Brooks, Tyrese Robinson and LaRon Stokes. Along with those players, Gabe Brkic also signed with a team after the draft.

Overall, with more Sooners spread across the NFL, there’s a promise for an exciting season for these former OU players. With the Sooners moving to the SEC in the near future, there’s a promise for a more successful draft rate, especially within the first round.
