Spotlights on Brookfield HS athletes Gabe Silva and Abigail Luizzi

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Gabe Silva has been a pillar of the Brookfield HS baseball program for the last 4 years. Breaking out as a freshman on Varsity in 2019, Gabe established himself as a leader, while becoming the outstanding player that he is today. Silva has been a 3 year Varsity starter (4 if not for Covid), and in 2021, he was nominated to the All-Patriot Division team.

In his high school career at the plate, Gabe has racked up 40 hits – 29 singles, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, and 13 stolen bases. He is off to a great start this year – hitting .568 with a .636 on base percentage. Gabe has been lights-out on the mound. In the past two seasons he holds a 6-1 record including 6 saves, and has a staggering 123 strikeouts. All while being a positive role model to his peers, both on and off the field.

Gabe received an athletic scholarship and will be continuing his baseball career at Thomas Jefferson University.
