A Pitt County basketball team soon to represent N.C. at Special Olympic Games

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Our Pitt County 5v5 basketball team has recently been selected for USA Special Olympic Games next summer in Orlando! Our Pitt County delegation will be taking 9 athletes and 2 coaches and playing at the ESPN Disney Courts! We will be representing team North Carolina. The trip will be June 4- June 12.

The Pitt County Wildcats qualified for this special event in November of 2019 while winning the North Carolina Special Olympics Tournament in Charlotte.  We will not only be representing Pitt County but all of NC.

This is a very exciting time for our program! This is a once in a lifetime trip for our athletes and coaches!

The team will be flying private out of Raleigh and staying for 8 days in Orlando! We will be visiting Disney parks along the way, but basketball will be the main focus of the trip. We will be playing 6-7 games against other Special Olympics teams across the nation!

We are grateful for the community of Greenville and all the support we have been shown! Many businesses, churches, Civitan groups, and individuals in the area supported the team!
