Get to know the Menomonee Falls Jr Phoenix Baseball program

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Menomonee Falls has a rich baseball history. Success at the older levels begins with strong programs for youth players, and the Menomonee Falls Jr Phoenix Baseball program is proud to play a part in achieving this success!

Originally established in 1995, the Jr Phoenix Baseball program exists to provide opportunities for youth players in our community to develop their baseball skills in a competitive environment. A select program for players in 2nd through 8th grades, the organization aims to field two teams at every grade level each season. Jr Phoenix Baseball is the feeder program for the Menomonee Falls High School baseball team.

Jr Phoenix players start practicing in the fall and continue to train indoors during the beautiful Wisconsin winters. In 2020, the organization signed a long-term lease for an over 6,000 square foot facility in Menomonee Falls. This facility, named the Falls House of Baseball, is outfitted with turf and three large retractable netted cages for batting, pitching and fielding. This year, the organization invested in a Hit Trax system which is a state-of-the-art digital training aid that provides feedback on a hitter’s exit velocity, launch angle and more.

From April through July, teams play league games against other local baseball clubs. All teams also participate in three to five weekend tournaments during this time period. Teams in 6th grade and older often chose to travel outside the Midwest for tournaments, with teams recently traveling to South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and New York.

Jr Phoenix Baseball is staffed entirely by volunteers and is a not-for-profit organization. Because of this, the fees associated with the program are actually much lower than the cost of other youth baseball programs in the area. The organization is community focused and aims to fill as many roster spots as possible with Menomonee Falls School District students and residents.

Players and families interested in joining or learning more about Jr Phoenix Baseball should check out mfjpbaseball.com for a Program Overview. Or find them on Facebook or Instagram. Tryouts for teams take place yearly in July and anyone interested is encouraged to come tryout for the program!
