Growth Circle runs first 5K; Palm City’s Run for the Pineapple

PALM CITY, Fla. — Founded by Karla Merrell, a resident of Palm City, business owner and mother of 2, the Growth Circle is a faith-based community of women growing spiritually, celebrating their bodies, and challenging their minds-through running.

Hosted at Palm City Presbyterian Church, 30 women from all walks of life met every Tuesday evening for 7 weeks to train with the goal of running a local 5K on Memorial Day.

Most of the women in the Growth Circle community have never trained or completed a 5k, some never run before or even thought that is something they could do.

Donning white shirts with the bright orange circle logo on the front and the scripture from Mathew’s book “with God, all things are possible” in the back, the Growth Circle ladies showed up proud to race, some of them accomplishing their best personal time during the race.

The community accomplished more than just running, elevating the confidence of its participants while holding each other accountable through weeks of practice. They prayed together, laughed together and motivated each other to keep improving 1% every day.

The Growth Circle will start a second cohort of training and fellowship on the Fall. Register for free.
