Urbana Youth Football Program sees increasing participation in latest clinic
FREDERICK, Md. — On June 13, 2022, players from the Urbana Youth Football Program returned to Urbana High School (UHS) for the fourth time in a series of recent clinics, sponsored by Head Coach Brad Wilson and the UHS varsity football team. Coach Wilson began conducting the clinics this year, which has directly contributed to an increased interest in youth football, a stronger relationship between the high school and youth programs, and continues to generate tremendous excitement for the upcoming season.
The clinics provide a valuable opportunity to introduce youth players to relevant football schemes and
concepts that are being run at UHS, and will better prepare them to be successful when they arrive at
the High School. It also affords opportunities for the youth program to implement some of these
schemes and concepts at the youth level, and to adopt common language and terminology.
Each of the four clinics has garnered more participation than the last. The first clinic, conducted in late
winter, had a little over 40 youth players in attendance. By the time the June 13 clinic was conducted,
this number had grown to more than 120 players.
Urbana Youth Football would again like to thank Coach Brad Wilson and the UHS coaching staff for
hosting this event, as well as the many players, parents, and youth coaches who contributed to making
this such a fun and successful event. #GoHawks!!!
