Meet Raine Manning: Texas Transformation Champion competition winner
HOUSTON, Texas. — I began my fitness/bodybuilding journey back in 2020. At first it was to lose weight, fit into a bikini, and ultimately to get on stage. Today my personal goals continue to evolve. I hope to consistently change my body and further discipline my mind through the art of bodybuilding and nutrition while improving my overall health, motivating other women who are just like me and mastering turning back the age of time biologically as it pertains to my current age.
My biggest challenge these days is with my nutrition. I have struggled my entire life with having an unhealthy relationship with food. This challenge doesn’t disappear, but it does get easier to choose me daily as my body responds to having no sugar and as I become more intentional with the foods I eat based on my trainers’ nutritional direction and meal plan. The best advice I’ve been given is about not being perfect, however rather being consistent with my approach.
I love the genuine support, camaraderie and the many fitness friends and family I’ve gained during this journey and their support. We truly motivate, support, push and uplift one another. You assume in a sport that is driven by the way you look would be cut throat and vicious… but it was exactly the opposite and I was welcomed with open arms and hearts from everyone and all the athlete’s female and male. We are all there just to become the best versions of ourselves!
These days I make sure I reflect on how far I’ve come and no matter where I place in my division. I always put my focus on my personal goals achieved and what I did well and what I could have done during prep better and I must always have my family with me at the competitions. I love to shop, sing, hang with family and friends and do workouts such as step aerobics, boot camps and activities outside with my fitness family… but most of all I love to enjoy life to the fullest!
We all need someone at some point in our journey and although this is a very personal journey, it is not one you walk alone. You are better because of the people you surround yourself with. YOU are the only one that can hold YOU back and what YOU eat in private, YOU wear in PUBLIC! BELIEVE IT and you can ACHIEVE IT… always CHOOSE YOU!
The one mistake I made while competing was not being completely transparent with my coach about my food triggers and or things that I was going through mentally as it pertained to food. Not because I wanted to be deceitful, but more because I perceived that if I wasn’t perfect, I was not worthy. But, what I didn’t realize was that was why he was here to coach me. Not because I was perfect but I needed and wanted help and I was finally ready to receive the help.
I’m so blessed coach Dewayne Malone was here to help me in the times I felt the weakest so that he could identify how to get ahead of it. These are the very behaviors that were embedded for years due to an unhealthy relationship with food and self-sabotage. To accept a NEW YOU, you must acknowledge who you were so you are never doomed to repeat it. In fact, I’m so proud I was able to go to win 1st Place in the Texas Transformation Champion in my first 2 years in the sport!
I was just a woman who got tired, and got tired of dreaming of becoming better and decided to do better! I got tired of dreaming of what could be and decided to do the work to manifest it! I was just a wife and mother who decided that I no longer wanted to be on the couch and watch my life go by and me being miserable in what I saw and felt in my body. I wanted BETTER… I wanted MORE… I wanted ME … I decided to CHOOSE ME! You can as well… CHOOSE YOU! SAY YES to YOU!
