Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball wins National High School Tournament
PARKLAND, Fla. — The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles made an epic run at the National High School Tournament against 16 of the top teams in the country, becoming a championship team. As a result, they have officially been named high school baseball’s top team of the year.
The Eagles finished the season 30-2, ending with a 22-game winning streak. The Eagles also won the District, Regional and State Championships, and their Second straight State Championship.
The Eagles went 4-0 outscoring opponents 43-4. They batted .453 for the tournament and the pitching had an era of 0.61.
Three All-Americans: Chris Arroyo, Jake Clemente and Roman Anthony, have a chance to be high draft picks this month. Chris Arroyo was voted MVP of the tournament and several players made the all-tournament team, including: Christian Rodriguez, Jake Clemente, Santiago Ordoñez, Cameron Harris, Rylan Lojo, Niko Benestad, Roman Anthony, Niko Benestad and Roman Anthony.
