What are some of the softball team’s accomplishments?

J.W. Mitchell softball: We have won 9 Conference Championships, 7 District Championships, 1 Regional Championship and made a Final Four Appearance.

What are the team’s goals for their next season?

Mitchell: Our goal is always to work hard and win.

Who are the team’s captains? What makes them a vital part of the team’s success?

Mitchell: Ashley Altman and Sydney Fowler. They hold the team together and are leaders on and off the field.

Does the team have any pregame rituals or traditions?

Mitchell: Our ritual is to wear Eyeblack or glitter Eyeblack at every game.

A new school year is starting soon, which means some new players. How does the softball team welcome new members?

Mitchell: They welcome new players by leading by example.

How does the team celebrate victories?

Mitchell: By singing on the bus rides back home – specifically, “We are the Champions” by Queen.

What motivates the team to reach their goals?

Mitchell: Hitting and winning!
