Rumson Fair Haven youth football gearing up for new season

FAIR HAVEN, N.J. — As a Head Coach and Vice President and Football Commissioner of the Rumson Fair Haven Youth Football, I am in a unique position to see the positive attributes of this program. Currently, we have 140 football players and 95 cheerleaders registered, which exceeds our enrollment from last year.  For the second year in a row we’ll field football teams at the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels, with cheer squads to compliment each team.  Practice has already begun and our regular season games will begin later this month. Once again our home games will be held at Borden Stadium on the campus of RFH Regional High School.

This spring, RFH Youth Football & Cheer joined forces with the RFH Touchdown Club (high school parent’s organization) to hold an incredibly successful fundraiser that coincided with the Preakness Stakes Horse Race on May 21st.  We were able to raise over $70,000 for both programs.  The idea behind the joint collaboration was that we consider ourselves all part of the same football program within our community.  The youth program serves as a feeder program for the high school, and our mission is to provide a positive football experience and prepare our youth players to compete at the next level when they advance to high school.
