Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers, Running Back
“The Jet” comes from speed, maneuverability and ability to destroy. Rodgers did not pick that name out of a hat but earned it. Something that hasn’t been covered much on this list is punt returns, but Rodgers topples everyone in this category. He ended his two-year career with Nebraska totaling over 1,500 yards of punt returns, his longest being 92 yards in 1971 against Oklahoma State. At 5-foot-10, Rodgers used his small size to his advantage by dusting any defenders and taking it to the house. He is still considered today to be the quickest as well as the best punt returner ever seen at Nebraska
