Erie Commodores and Villarreal FC host multiple youth soccer camps

ERIE, Pa. — The Erie Commodores hosted La Liga powerhouse team Villarreal CF at the Erie Sports Center on July 9th! Two members of Villarreal’s coaching staff, Vicente Benlloch and Vicky Yarnold, held special training sessions for the Erie Junior Commodores.

Benlloch has been at Villarreal for seven seasons and is a goalkeeper specialist. Yarnold has been at the club for two seasons and is a part of the youth academy coaching staff. The pair hosted three different afternoon sessions for Junior Commodores players to attend: goalkeeping, boys, and girls.

The Erie Commodores and Spire FC also hosted the pair at SPIRE for a Villarreal CF soccer development camp. The camp ran from July 10 to 16, and players in attendance had the amazing opportunity to learn all week under the two coaches and Director of Soccer, Troy Bingham. Both the Erie Sports Center sessions and SPIRE camp gave local youth players the chance to further develop their skills. The Erie Sports Center and Erie Commodores FC look forward to being able to host more great opportunities for our local athletes.
