Fort Mill dance team competes at Universal Dance Association camp at Lander University
FORT MILL, S.C. — Fort Mill High School’s Dance Team competed in the Universal Dance Association (UDA) dance team camp at Lander University in Greenwood, SC in July.
The Dancers participated in week-long classes, competed in a home routine competition, auditioned for All-American events, and were evaluated as individual and team dancers. FMHS secured 2nd place, Superior Rating, Team Full Out, and the COVETED Leadership Award. The Leadership Award is nominated by other teams also participating in the camp. This has allowed them to be eligible to compete in the Varsity National Dance Team Competition in February.
FMHS Dance Team consists of 21 athletes in grades 9-12 and is led by Elizabeth Dukes-Hagen, and Kimberly Cook. Come out and cheer on your FMHS Dance Team at home football games, and basketball games this season. You will also find them at local fall festivals, Breakfast with Santa and for the first time ever they will be joining forces with the band at competitions.
They are thrilled to begin this partnership with the band. Great job ladies, thank you for representing Fort Mill so well. You can keep up with the team on Facebook at Fort Mill High School Dance Team or Instagram at Fortmilldancteam.
