Top 10 Tennessee HS football players in Class of 2023
HERMITAGE, Tenn. (BVM) – This year’s Tennessee high school senior class bears a bumper crop of talent. There are so many worthy candidates to consider for such a limited number of spots. These are the best players in the Volunteer State’s Class of 2023.
10. Brock Glenn, QB, Lausanne Collegiate School
The 6-foot-2 field general from Memphis has more than proven his mettle. As a junior, Glenn threw for 1,576 yards along with 23 TDs. Glenn is set to become an Ohio State Buckeye following his senior season.

9. Ayden Greene, WR, Powell
Greene employs excellent field vision and rare football smarts. He is reported to be 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds ahead of this year. The prized pass-catcher pledged to join the University of Cincinnati Bearcats once he graduates.

8. Trevor Duncan, DE/TE, Knoxville Catholic
Duncan is nearly 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds with a high-performance engine. He works double time down in the trenches, at defensive end and tight end on offense. The Knoxville native won’t venture far to become a member of the Vols next fall.

7. Demitrius Bell, WR, McGavock
Bell is a speedy 6-foot-2 receiver with game-breaking abilities. The four-star prospect amassed two dozen offers from premier college football programs around the country. He will join the Michigan State Spartans in the summer of 2023.

6. Luke Brown, OL, Henry County
Brown combines atypical athletic ability with a punishing physical style. At 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds, he is a power load. He drew interest from a slew of major schools across the nation. Brown accepted an offer from the University of Arkansas in April.

5. Kenny Minchey, QB, Pope John Paul II
Minchey burst on the scene in 2021 with a spectacular season. He tossed for 3,280 yards, along with 32 TDs and connected on 61.4% of his throws. He even added three TDs on the ground. The 6-foot-2 star signal caller ships out for the University of Pittsburgh in 2023.

4. Brycen Sanders, OL, Baylor School
Sanders is amazingly athletic at 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds. He’s got serious quickness and superhuman strength. Those traits tied together spell trouble for the opposition. He plans to represent the University of Mississippi aka Ole Miss.

3. Shamar Porter, WR, Ensworth
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Porter is quick and talented with a natural feel for his position. He was sidelined last fall with a shoulder injury, suffering a torn labrum in late October. But he should be ready to go this month. Porter committed to the University of Kentucky earlier this year.

2. Ty Lockwood, TE, Independence
The state’s top offensive player is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound weapon who may be deployed from almost any spot behind the line of scrimmage. He can block in a variety of schemes and projects to be an asset on special teams. Lockwood made big news earlier this month, as he shockingly switched his commitment from Ohio State to Alabama.

1. Caleb Herring, OLB, Riverdale
At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, Herring gives coaches something they crave: versatility. He excels at operating off the edge, collecting seven sacks as a junior. Plus Herring can be utilized in pass coverage. The four-star senior joins his older brother Elijah on the Tennessee Volunteers in 2023.
