Meet Ridge Point volleyball player, Houston Juniors Volleyball Club member Sydney Jordan
MISSOURI CITY, Texas — Sydney Jordan is one of the most complete all-around volleyball players in the 2023 class nationwide. At 6’3” she is a true six rotation outside hitter who has the talent, technique, and standout quality with her hitting, serve receive passing, defense, and blocking to showcase her rare all-around talent every time she steps on the court.
She demonstrates an extremely high volleyball IQ having grown up in the game and around sports from a young age. Her mother Lori was a standout outside hitter (same position) at UNC-Chapel Hill, who was her first coach. Her father Matt was a professional soccer player for 13 years in the MLS, Europe, and Canada and was a National Team player. Her 14-year-old brother Myles is even in the USA Volleyball program as an outside hitter.

In 2021, for her 6A Texas high school team Ridge Point, she was one of the most consistent performers in the state, helping lead the Panthers to the Final-Four of the 6A Texas State Championships, while being a top performer in nearly all the key statistical categories for a six-rotation hitter.
She even played in the state semi-finals with a broken finger that later required surgery demonstrating her grit and commitment. Going into her senior year in 2022 Sydney is determined to help lead the Ridge Point program to even further than the last three season, where she led the team to the Texas 6A state semi-finals 2 out of the last 3 years.
