What are your personal goals within your sport/athletic dreams?

Winn Carlton: I would like to make varsity my freshmen year for lacrosse at Hanover. Another goal is to earn a lacrosse scholarship at a D1 college.

What is your biggest challenge in your sport, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Carlton: My biggest challenge is my pre-game nerves. I try to create a mindset and think about how it’s not as big of a deal as it might seem.

What was the best advice you were ever given?

Carlton: To not give up when it’s challenging and to push yourself past your limits.

What do you love about your sport?

Carlton: I love the competition and friendships that are made and how sports are a healthy way to distract yourself from other things.

Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?

Carlton: I listen to hype music before every game.

What do you like to do outside of your sport?

Carlton: Hang out with friends, go to the beach and pool, go to the river with friends, and go shopping.

What has being a member of a team taught you?

Carlton: That we all have to work together to be successful on and off the field.

What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach or mentor?

Carlton: To never stop trying and never lose faith in myself or my team.

Describe a mistake you made while competing and how you overcame it.

Carlton: In a lacrosse game I missed a shot and during the next few practices I focused on my accuracy in my shots, and when I got home, I practiced more.
