Catching up with former NBA player, NC State alum Chucky Brown
RALEIGH, N.C. — Meet Chucky Brown, a local legend: a former NBA basketball player of 13 years. If you ask him, he will tell you he most enjoyed the team aspect of basketball of working towards a common goal.
Throughout his career in the NFL, he played for Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Nets, Lakers, Phoenix, Atlanta, Charlotte, San Antonio, Golden State, and Sacramento. But Chucky’s roots are here in Raleigh. He is an NC State grade, where he also played basketball. “Go Pack!”
“One must work hard no matter what to achieve their goal. Sometimes you must sacrifice to get what you want,” Chucky passionately states when asked about his success.
His passion behind his achievement of an NBA career was not only to be successful but also to help positively change lives. Expounding, he shares that he is invigorated by “Keeping people positive while times are tough, finding a way to pull a positive out of every situation no matter how negative it may be. Stay positive.”
