Ryle HS softball player Laci Delauder wins JV MVP award
UNION, Ky. — The Ryle High School JV Softball team had a great year finishing 15-4 this season.
Laci Delauder was a freshman pitcher and utility player on the team. Laci received the Ryle JV Softball MVP award for her performance and positive attitude. Laci is known for always having a big smile on her face. As a JV pitcher, Laci had a 6-2 record, 3 saves and 66 strikeouts. Defensively, Laci played multiple positions on JV as a utility player and delivered a perfect 1.000 JV fielding percentage. Laci’s JV batting average was 484.
Laci also played on the Ryle High School Varsity team which had a great year winning the 33 District Championship and made it to the semi-final regional tournament game. The Varsity team achieved a 19-15 overall record. Laci had the opportunity to gain experience on the varsity team this year by pitching in 8 games and playing outfield in several games.
Laci understands the importance of teamwork and striving to better herself. She enjoys the camaraderie of practicing and playing with her teammates. Softball has taught her many lessons, including how hard work and preparation lead to achieving goals. Laci continues to play travel softball with the NKY Bandits Pompilio 14u team this summer to hone her skills.
