Trinity High School improves athletics facilities and launches new team
CAMP HILL, Pa. — Trinity High School, located in Camp Hill, has been competing at a high level of sports for many years. This year, however, their gymnasium and fields will match their determination with much vital improvements made to their athletics facilities.
“Trinity is in the midst of the Faith in our Future Capital Campaign which has raised nearly $6 million dollars to date. While money raised will transform general school facilities such as the exterior facade and the school auditorium, a large portion of the fundraising benefits improvements have gone towards the athletic facilities. These include the installation of a new track and field turf at COBO (which stands for Challenge of Brotherly Opposition) field, the renovation of our gymnasium which includes new bleachers for the first time, and the expansion of our practice fields,” touts THS Athletic Director, Eric Kindler. The completed gym also received a face lift with new paint and refinishing of both floors and walls.
“These upgrades will provide more opportunity for use by all of our students and our programs, ranging from physical education classes, to the marching band and of course our athletic teams,” continues Kindler. The enhanced facilities also open up more playing space which encourages the use of Trinity’s gymnasium and fields by local feeder schools, dicoesan programs and partners. “These improvements along with the staff we have in place will allow our students to have the best experience possible in their pursuit of athletics here at Trinity,” explained Kindler.
In anticipation of these improvements, the athletic department at Trinity also launched their new field hockey program, as a PIAA sponsored sport. “We are really excited about the new program here at Trinity. We had 26 girls that signed up this year,” boasts new coach, Julie Reibsane. “I’m thrilled to help bring this popular sport to THS and get the Shamrocks on the map for field hockey.”
T
he campaign and renovation efforts have been a team effort led by principal John Cominsky.
“Our school is built on our families and it was through their immense generosity and emphatic ‘yes’ to the vision of THS that has enabled these improvements to happen. We are grateful to all of our contributors who have helped make our facilities the best they can be for our athletes. It’s great to be a Trinity Shamrock and these improvements will highlight that in new and wonderful ways,” finished Kindler.
