Naples RB Isaiah Augustave shows why he is SEC bound

NAPLES, Fla. (BVM) – Naples High School has seen plenty of success recently on the gridiron, and one reason why is senior running back Isaiah Augustave. In 2021, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound standout ran for 950 yards and 16 touchdowns as part of a squad that averaged close to 350 yards rushing per game last season.

Augustave had six 100-yard rushing games, averaging close to nine yards per carry for the Golden Eagles. Naples went 10-1 on the season, which ended with a loss to Northwestern High School in the FHSAA Class 6A Region 4 semifinals.

However, Augustave has returned strong for his senior season as part of one of the top running back duos in the area alongside Kendrick Raphael – a 5-foot-11, 180-pound back who had even better numbers than Augustave in 2021, rushing for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Raphael had been a three-star recruit of the Iowa Hawkeyes before decommitting early in the fall. Meanwhile, Augustave made his college decision this past summer, pledging to play in the SEC with the Arkansas Razorbacks

The four-star recruit is ranked as the fifth-best running back in the country and No. 190 in the Class of 2023 by 247Sports. He chose the Razorbacks over offers from the likes of Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, Oklahoma State and Missouri, among others.

Augustave is part of a 2023 Arkansas class that is ranked in the top 20 in the country, and he will join a program on the rise in the SEC under third-year head coach Sam Pittman. Last year, the Razorbacks went 9-4 which included a win over Penn State in the Outback Bowl.

For Naples, Augustave is not the only Division I product they will be producing in the Class of 2023. In addition to the two star running backs, three-star cornerback Jonas Duclona will be headed to play at Cincinnati, while three-star safety Kerry Brown has pledged to play at Minnesota.

With a highly-coveted combination of speed and size, Augustave has flashed plenty of upside throughout his time at Naples. It’s that potential that has many thinking the sky’s the limit when it comes to the rest of his football career.
