5 longest playoff droughts across all four major sports
2. New York Jets, 11 seasons (last appearance: 2010)
The longest drought in the NFL belongs to the Jets who haven’t been in the postseason since the team was led by head coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez who are both now TV personalities. After going 11-5 in 2010, the Jets have gone 65-116 (.359%) as of Oct. 4. The best season came in 2015 when the team went 10-6 under Ryan’s replacement Todd Bowles in his first season but missed the postseason based on tiebreakers. The worst came in 2020 when the team was 2-14 in the last season under head coach Adam Gase.
