Get to know Carroll Senior High School football player Harrison Moore
SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Harrison Moore is an impressive student-athlete. This Carroll Senior High School Junior is a member of the National Honor Society, Young Men’s Service League, former Odessy of the Mind Worlds Finalist, and was named to the 4-6A 1st Team All-District as a sophomore. What really makes him a standout, however, is the standards he sets for himself on and off of the field. He takes school seriously, taking four Advanced Placement classes this year, and attends a weekly Bible study.
GETTING STARTED
The first football game I remember watching was the Super Bowl hosted in Texas in 2011 between the Steelers and the Packers. I have loved football and the Packers ever since. In addition to football, I played a little of everything growing up. Basketball, Lacrosse, Baseball, and Soccer. I even got a Black Belt in Karate.
ACHIEVEMENTS
I got called up to Varsity as a Freshman and played meaningful snaps in all of our playoff games. My most memorable achievement that season was beating Duncanville in Round 5. No one thought we even had a chance in that game as we had lost to them the two previous years in the playoffs. It was an absolutely surreal experience and the best game I have been a part of.
INSPIRATION
My parents have always said I could do anything if I work hard enough at it. I like to set aggressive goals and then focus my energy on achieving them. A goal worth achieving is worth working hard for.
PRE-GAME
I always do the same prayer twice on gamedays, once after warmups and again right before kickoff.
PARENTS
My mom and dad have always been at my games and practices and have helped me find the best coaches and trainers to help me get better during the off-season. It’s the same with school, they have encouraged me to give my best at everything. I know football is just one aspect of my life and that my education is very important too.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Right now, my main goal is to win a state championship with my teammates. Longer term, I hope to play football in college and study engineering.
