Jamal Crawford, Jason Terry among Seattle’s top 10 NBA players
10. Martell Webster, F, Seattle Prep
Webster never lived up to the billing in the NBA considering where he was drafted, but he still was a productive player. He played in high school at Seattle Prep, becoming one of the top players in the country. Although he committed to play at the University of Washington, Webster was one of the final players to go straight from high school to the pros in 2005. His talent was recognized, as he was selected sixth overall by the Portland Trail Blazers. Bouncing between the Blazers and the Developmental League as a rookie, Webster eventually became a role player in Portland, but had an encouraging season in 2007-08 as he averaged 10.7 points and nearly four rebounds, putting up multiple 20-plus-point scoring efforts. However, Webster would play just five minutes in 2008-09 as he suffered a foot injury, further hindering his development. After a final season in Portland, Webster continued his off-the-bench role the next two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 6-foot-7 forward had arguably the best year of his career with the Washington Wizards in 2012-13 as he averaged 11.4 points per game. He spent two more years on the court with Washington, but missed the following two seasons with a hip injury, leading him to retire from basketball.
