Newport Harbor came out hot with an opening possession that led to a 27-yard touchdown pass from Colton Joseph to Kashton Henjum. The Sailors almost added a field goal on their next possession, but CdM senior Aiden Walsh got the block. Harbor continued the pressure on defense, and when they got the ball back, Joseph followed with a 21-yard TD pass to Henjum. The Sailors scored 14 points before the Sea Kings recorded a first down. But on the next possession, Rasor threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to junior Russell Weir, scoring 14-7. Then, Rasor added another touchdown, this time to sophomore tight end Zach Giuliano. The score was 14-14 at the half.

The Sea Kings took the lead late in the third quarter when Rasor threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Mason Kubichek. On Newport Harbor’s following possession, Kubichek made a tackle for a fourth-down stop early in the fourth quarter. Rasor then broke a 52-yard run before throwing a 6-yard TD to Cooper Hoch after recovering a snap that sailed over his head. The Sailors never scored in the second half.
