Cherokee Bluff HS football cheerleading team led by senior class
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — This Cherokee Bluff program is full of senior leadership as they head into the school’s fifth season. With 12 total seniors, the Cherokee Bluff Varsity Football Cheerleaders are making memories of a lifetime in the Fall of 2022.
Under the coaching of Danielle Scott, the squad has developed a long-standing commitment and investment to the development of the program. It’s never easy to establish new traditions at a new high school, but with a large senior class that has now gone all the way through at Cherokee Bluff these cheerleaders are doing just that.
Some new traditions include praying and kissing the banner before putting it up at games and sitting in the same seat on the bus for every away game.
“All members of the team are a family,” says Coach Scott, “We respect each other and help when someone needs it.” Captains Macie Heaton and M’Kaylah Jackson set the tone for this.
When asked, the squad felt Macie was also the team “hype woman.” Macie plays music on the bus and while getting ready, taking requests along the way. She makes sure everyone gets their song selection played. Macie also leads chants for the team to participate in and generally gets the whole squad ready to support the team on the field.
Following a win there is always more music and excitement. The girls do the fight song and then celebrate by dancing. Cheering at Cherokee Bluffs is a ton of fun and the friendships being made are something special. Nothing like cheering for the hometown team!
