MeatBall Molly McCann set for big bout at MSG

NEW YORK (BVM) — With fighters like Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, Jon Jones and others, UFC has become one of the most exciting sports in the world. And on Nov. 12, at UFC 281,  there will be another fighter set to capture the hearts and minds of people around the world. That fighter is Molly “Meatball” McCann.

McCann is currently ranked No. 15  in the flyweight division, and she is set to face up-and-coming flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield who is ranked No. 12. Now, one may look at those rankings and think, “What’s the big deal?” But a win over a prospect like Blanchfield could put McCann in the conversation for a shot at the title.

At the same time, this will undoubtedly be the most formidable challenge McCann has had in her UFC career. For Blanchfield, it has been an impressive start as she has won five straight fights, including going 3-0 in her UFC debut.

However, McCann has seemingly matched Blanchfield’s hype with knockouts against Luna Carolina and Hannah Goldy. Both of these knockouts came with spinning back elbows.

With two great spinning back elbows, one of the world’s famous figures, Dewayne, “The Rock,” Johnson, took notice.

Along with The Rock, Molly has received unwavering support from internet sensation Dave Portnoy. In fact, not shrolty after McCann’s knockout tin UFC Barstool signed McCan along with fighting partner, Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett.

It has been an amazing journey for McCann and those around her. Now, under the bright lights of MSG, she’s out to prove once again why she is one of the best fighters in the UFC at the age of 32.
