NEW YORK (BVM) – The New York Jets are now 6-3. Their six wins are already the most they have had in a season since 2019 when they finished 7-9.

For the younger generation, many probably do not remember a time when the Jets were actually good. This includes their new superfan, Johnny.

While the Jets have been great on the field this season, Johnny has stolen the show.

He has gone viral this year on both Twitter and TikTok for his tradition of getting ice cream after every Jets win.

In Johnny’s young life, this is the first time the Jets have been an actual threat in the AFC South.

The Jets are playing a level of football to where a simple bowl of ice cream does not suffice anymore.

After their shocking victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Johnny’s desert met the occasion. An entire ice cream cake.

Prior to the year, rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner guaranteed plenty of ice cream for Johnny. Now, he’s doing his part in making sure that happens, including a big interception and a huge pass breakup on Sunday.

Gardner and fellow cornerback DJ Reed have been a big part of one of the best secondaries in the NFL this season, leading New York to their scorching start.

Unfortunately for Johnny, the Jets have their bye this week. But he will have an opportunity for some more ice cream when New York travels to Foxborough, Massachusetts to take on the Patriots on Nov. 20.

If the Jets were to lose in New England, Johnny may have ice cream withdrawals. It would be the first time this year that he would have to take a two-week hiatus from his sweet treat as the Jets have avoided a losing streak thus far.

As for the rest of the season, five of the Jets’ remaining games are against teams over .500.

But things are different this year for the Jets. They are actually a good football team, capable of beating postseason squads as they demonstrated against the Bills.

The second half will be a tougher road for New York, but they have an opportunity to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season.

And if that happens, the players deserve some ice cream too.
