3. Detroit Tigers

After batting .231 as a team last year – the sixth-worst mark in the league – it is no secret that the Tigers could look to bring in some hitting this offseason. Following yet another disappointing campaign in which Detroit went 66-96, they could use a consistent bat in their lineup like Benintendi’s to pair with the upside of some of their young players. Benintendi would represent a likely upgrade at the plate and in the field on most of Detroit’s outfielders from last season. And still being just 28, it’s possible Benintendi could become a piece to build upon in Detroit as it hopes to emerge into a contender within the next few years.
