7. Sam Vincent (1981-85)
Sam Vincent followed on the heels of his older brother Jay’s great success as a Spartan. Sam is No. 3 all time in free throws made, eighth in steals (159), averaging 1.4 per game. In addition, he’s eighth in career points (1,846) scored at Michigan State. Vincent led MSU back to the big dance after a six-year absence following their epic tournament win.
Sam Vincent was a second and third team All-American coming out of Michigan State, averaging 17 points, 3 assists and a steal a game over his 4 seasons.
Vincent was also the recipient of the State of Michigan "Mr Basketball" award in 1981.
