Fort Mill HS swimmer Olivia Corbi helps team win state championship

FORT MILL, S.C. — Olivia Corbi a junior at Fort Mill High School was recently named the CN2 Athlete of the week for leading the high school swim team to a victorious championship, earning 4 gold team medals at the State Championship meet in October.

Olivia brought home a total of 5 gold medals. This is FMHS Girls Swim Team first ever 5A State Championship. Olivia led the team winning both of her individual events, the 500 freestyle, and the 2300 freestyle.

Along with her teammates, (Anna Kate Halligan, Ava Corbi, Josie Chandler)  Olivia secured gold medals in the 200 Medley Relay, and the 400 Freestyle Relay with her team(Anna Kate Halligan, Ava Corbi, Lila Hadley).

A swimmer who achieves all gold medals in all four of their events receives the title of “SCHSL Palmetto’s Finest”  Olivia was awarded a plaque and inducted into Palmetto’s Finest at the team banquet. Only 10 swimmers in 25 years have achieved this milestone.  In addition, only 4 swimmers in 25 years have received all 5 gold medals. Congratulations Olivia, we look forward to following your senior year swimming at Fort Mill High School.
