Giannis answers spicy NBA questions in Serge’s kitchen
MILWAUKEE (BVM) – Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked a series of NBA-related questions by his teammate for the Season 5 premiere of Serge Ibaka’s series called, “How Hungry Are You?”
The NBA Champion and two-time MVP had two options in Serge’s kitchen. He could either answer Ibaka’s spicy question or, if he chose to keep the answer to himself, he had to drink juice with crickets in it. Below are some of the questions and answers that stood out from the interview (spoiler alert).
Some answers will always be safe with Giannis
Giannis refused to answer, “If you didn’t play for Milwaukee, which NBA team would you want to play for?” He was also asked to answer which of his brothers is the worst basketball player. But, Giannis ate the crickets – which he found to be “torture” – to keep those answers safe with him.
Giannis is 99.9% Nigerian
In recent years, the “Greek Freak” has been vocal in trying to get more fans to acknowledge his Nigerian side. He told Serge, “I was born in Athens, but I feel Nigerian – I feel African.” He even noted that he took a DNA test that came back as 99.9% Nigerian.
Giannis says he won’t play for the Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors for a long time have been considered the front-runners to land Antetokounmpo if he leaves Milwaukee. When asked to answer “true” or “false” to, “One day Giannis will play for the Toronto Raptors,” Giannis’ response was:
“False… I’m authentic and I’m a man of my word… “[But] if they offer me a contract and which I have to take anything so I can feed my kids… If my kids are in the street and cannot eat because of you (Serge), that is in your heart.”
Losing the 2019 Conference Finals against the Raptors still hurts
The Raptors overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat the Bucks in the 2019 Conference Finals. Giannis said, “That’s probably one of the most hurt[ful] moments in my career. I’m still salty about it… we were up 12 with four minutes to go.”
Giannis doesn’t feel like he’s the face of the NBA
“Do I feel like I’m one of the faces of the league, yes… [But I am not the face since] LeBron is still playing and Steph just won a championship, KD still hooping, Embiid’s killing… a lot of people are there.”
