Meet Hanover area senior athletes, couple George Reiker and Veronica Miller

HANOVER, Pa. — George Reiker and Veronica Miller met while on a blind date in August of 1989. In 1995 they were married on the “Regis and Kathy Lee Show.” on TV after George sent a letter proclaiming his love for Veronica as a winning contest entry. They traveled to New York with family and friends for the wedding. Veronica even shopped in NY for her wedding gown! They were treated to a reception after the wedding.

George has 2 sons and Veronica has 2 daughters. Together they have 4 grandchildren!

In July 2018, George and Veronica retired from their sub shop, George’s B Street. They knew when they retired, they wanted to stay active. Veronica’s daughter recommended they check out Hanover Family Fitness where they have been members of the 55+ class for over 2 years.

They were happy to find a class that could be modified to their ability and still have fun. They also enjoy the group workouts and have become friends with other athletes in the class. George says he realized early on that the workouts were geared to functionality in life. He and Veronica enjoy the variety of the workouts and equipment used.
