Middletown Valley Athletic Association holds golf tournament and MVAA Night
MIDDLETOWN, Md. — The Middletown Valley Athletic Association Golf Tournament (formally called Remsberg Park Golf Tournament) has been underway for 10+ years. MVAA Public Relations Chair Emily Delauter said, “We are so fortunate to have such great support in our community. We have many returning sponsors, players, and volunteers each year.” This year, the event was held Oct. 7 at Musket Ridge Golf Club. The putting contest sponsor was Prospect Point Brewing. Funds raised go to MVAA sports (expenses, field maintenance) and the continuing development of Remsberg Park. This year, they netted a little over $5000. The winning foursome was Michael LaPadula, Freddy Dodge, Brian Stamper, and Trevor Dodman.
The organization also held their annual fall MVAA Nights for each sport recently, as well. MVAA kids wear their jerseys and get in free. Many teams will let them run out onto the field with them, will play a small game at half time, or participate in other ways. For example, cheerleaders from the MVAA cheer squads (Flag and Mini Pony, Pony, Junior Varsity, and Varsity) each cheer a quarter of a football game with the high school girls.
