Ranking the top 10 Chicago Blackhawks players of all time
- Denis Savard, C (1980-90, 1994-97)
Selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, Savard quickly made an impact on the team as he recorded 75 points, a rookie record for the franchise at the time. He helped the Blackhawks reach the Eastern Conference finals four times and created his patented move, the “Savardian Spin-o-Rama.” With Chicago, Savard recorded 1,096 points (377 goals and 719 assists).
His career came to a close in 1997, and to this day, the 10-time All-Star is considered one of the best to put on Chicago’s sweater. The squad retired his No. 18 jersey in 1998.
