Top 10 Texas Longhorns basketball players of all time
5. LaMarcus Aldridge (2004-06)
Aldridge was only at Texas for two seasons, but the 6-foot-11 forward proved his tremendous upside time and again while in Austin. After averaging just shy of 10 points and six rebounds as a freshman, Aldridge became not only an offensive force as a sophomore, averaging 15 points and 9.2 rebounds, but also a strong defensive presence with two blocks and 1.4 steals per game. His 339 rebounds as a sophomore are in the top 10 for most in a single season in program history. Aldridge was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference in his sophomore campaign as well before heading off to have an All-Star career in the NBA.
