Get to know Geneva HS golfers, brothers Christian and Logan Novay

GENEVA, Ill. — Brothers Christian and Logan Novay just finished their first season on the Geneva High School Freshman/Sophomore golf team. When asked what they love about the sport, Christian (15) told us he loves how the game is different every time. As for Logan (14) he enjoys how relaxing golf is and that it takes his mind off everything else. One of the biggest challenges in the sport, in the words of Christian, is “If I have a bad hole, not to get upset and just move on.” Logan shared his challenge is “staying focused, trying not to get distracted and concentrating on my game.” To conquer this, the boys utilize their pregame ritual of going to the range to warm up and putt.

When asked for the best piece of advice ever given, the brothers agreed on important guidance that there is no perfection, and how you “have to strive to be the best you can be on that day.” Along these lines, helpful advice from a coach to always put forth your best effort are important words to remember when competing on the course. Being a member of a team has also taught them how they’re all working together to achieve the same goal.

When not practicing or competing in an event, Christian likes to hang out with friends, play basketball, or go to the gym. Logan also likes to play basketball, as well as Xbox.  Some of their personal goals with golf are to always improve his game (Christian) and to beat his dad (Logan).
