Bronny James flashes high-level potential in senior debut
CHATSWORTH, Calif. (BVM) – Bronny James, a top-10 combo guard in the nation, made his senior season debut for Sierra Canyon on Saturday. LeBron James showed his support on social media as Bronny opened up the biggest season of his career.
Sierra Canyon went into the weekend as the No. 14–ranked team nationally and faced off against unranked Rancho Christian, according to Sports Illustrated’s Power 25 rankings. Bronny scored 13 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out four assists. The leading scorer of the night was the No. 3 SG in the nation, Isaiah Elohim – who finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists for his junior season debut. Sierra Canyon ultimately lost in overtime, 63-60, and the team is now 2-1.
LeBron also reposted a highlight of Bronny from Saturday on his Instagram story with the caption, “He’s so cold”. Watch here as 6-foot-3 Bronny smoothly passes by two defenders in the air and makes the two-point layup.
It was a tough loss for Bronny as a four-star recruit who is also ranked as one of the top-35 players in the nation overall by ESPN. Minutes restriction likely prevented him from scoring bigger. He last made headlines when he scored 31 points in a Border League game for Sierra Canyon against Bishop Gorman.

There are a lot of eyes on the unsigned prospect who has offers from programs including Ohio State, Memphis and USC. Fans are eager to see some higher-level consistency from Bronny that matches the hype as Sierra Canyon takes on Crossroads this Wednesday.
