4. Benjamin Van Alstyne (1926-49)
Van Alstyne led Michigan State for a team-record 22 seasons. His Spartans logged 231 wins in 394 games (.586) during that period. In 1930-31, Alstyne enjoyed his finest year as MSU ended up 16-1. Every single one but four of his years with green and white turned out to be winners.
