Ranking the top 10 Boston Bruins players of all time
- John Bucyk, LW (1957-78)
Bucyk helped lead the offense in Boston for 21 seasons, accumulating 1,339 total points (545 goals and 749 assists). His 545 goals are the most in Bruins’ history. That type of production led Bucyk to become a two-time winner of the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.
Bucyk retired in 1978, and since then, the two-time champion has entered the Hockey Hall of Fame and has had his No. 9 retired by the franchise.
This week in 1967: John Bucyk scored twice in a win over NYR for points 575 and 576 of his B's career, passing Milt Schmidt as the club’s all-time scoring leader.
He extended the record to 1,339 points as a Bruin, a mark that stood until Ray Bourque broke it on Feb. 1, 1997. pic.twitter.com/BAgzmRdS8A
