Joey Logano’s message at NASCAR Awards to future drivers
NASHVILLE (BVM) — NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano gave the speech of the night at the 2022 NASCAR Awards on Saturday.
Logano — who finished the 2022 racing season with four wins, 11 top-five finishes, 17 top-10 finishes and 784 laps led — was introduced by American racing legend Mario Andretti before speaking on his second championship ring for Team Penske.

“When I was a kid,” started Logano in his speech, “six or seven years old, I had a picture signed by Mario Andretti that said, ‘always chase your dreams.'”
A full-circle moment for Logano, he used the opportunity to inspire the next generation of drivers.
“Roger Penske, Kathy Penske, you guys took a risk on me 10 years ago now,” Logano said. “And here we are two championships later as a driver who didn’t have that many options.”
Logano spoke for several minutes but concluded with one final message to the drivers of the future.
“To all the young racers out there, coming from a guy that’s made plenty of mistakes, I have no regrets when it comes to the mistakes that I’ve made because it’s made me who I am,” Logano said. “I challenge everyone to take risks, make the big moves and stand up for what’s right because it’s not about winning and losing – it’s about winning and growing.”
