Ranking the top 10 Winnipeg Jets players of all time
2. Bobby Hull, F, 1972-80
After 15 great seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, Hull saw an opportunity to make a payday in the WHA. The Jets ultimately agreed to a 10-year deal to make the Canadian star a player/coach. Hull instantly became arguably the league’s best player, winning the Gordie Howe Trophy (MVP) in two of his first three seasons and getting the organization two AVCO cups.
One of the most significant days in Hockey History occurred 50 years ago on June 27, 1972 when the ‘Golden Jet’ Bobby Hull signed with the World Hockey Association and the Winnipeg Jets. NHL would go to court to stop Hull and lost. The WHA paid Hull $1 million to make the move. pic.twitter.com/hxpNQ4Zb6m
