What are your personal goals within your sport/athletic dreams?
Asha Taylor: I want to become a better tumbler. I also want to win competitions with my team.
What is your biggest challenge in your sport?
Taylor: I would say my greatest challenge is persistence and endurance during stunting.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Taylor: A senior once told me, “Love what you do and give it your all, no matter what others may say.”
What do you love about your sport?
Taylor: I love the challenges of creating technical stunt and dance routines. I really love game nights and the family aspect of the team.
Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?
Taylor: We meet in the weight room to practice and go over our stunts and routine for the night. We also encourage one another and pray together before the game.
What do you like to do outside of your sport?
Taylor: I love to hang out with family and friends. I enjoy church events. I like the challenge of academics and jazz band.
What has being a member of a team taught you?
Taylor: Everyone has to give 100% for the team to work properly.
What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach or mentor?
Taylor: Leave your distractions behind and focus on cheer!
Anything else you’d like to add?
Taylor: I’ve learned to be less worried and to just enjoy my sport. I love cheer!
