Meet Shen HS volleyball player Grace Almeida
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Grace Almeida is a middle blocker/hitter for the Shenendehowa volleyball team. It’s a sport she’s passionate about. “I love the fast-pace plays and playing challenging competition,” she says. She’s looking forward to all the events of her final months of her senior year, including her time on the basketball team. She’s hoping for another chance at sectionals this year.
Grace’s favorite subject in school is graphic design because she enjoys how creative she can be and how unique she can make each design. She’s a part of the National Honor Society and Latin club and is looking forward to pursuing her volleyball career when she attends Saint Michael’s College next year as a graphic design major. Grace will be entering college with an impressive history. Recently named as the Suburban Council First Team All-Star in volleyball after receiving Second Team last year and an honorable mention in her sophomore year. She also received an All-Tournament Team Award at the Hendrick Hudson Tournament.
In addition to her time on the court, Grace volunteers her time as a coach for the Volley Futures Volleyball camps, working with girls from third to eighth grade. This past summer, she also coached at the Shen basketball girl’s camp.
Outside of school and sports, Grace enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and especially with her new mini poodle puppy, Luka.
