Who could be the New York Jets QB for the 2023 season?
In-house candidates
Mike White
White was playing good football and it looked like he was clearly the roster’s favorite QB. The rest of the season was expected to be his audition for not only the Jets but the other 31 teams across the league as he enters free agency this offseason. Now out with an injury, his future with the organization seems cloudy. Did the Jets see enough in him to feel comfortable bringing him back or will he take an opportunity with another team?
Zach Wilson
With three games left on the schedule, every game going forward could be his last as the team’s starter. But assuming his trade value is low at the moment and still being only halfway through his rookie contract, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Wilson is not on the Jets roster next year. But for a team that needs to transition to win-now mode in 2023, trying to let Wilson continue to develop as a starter would be a risky move.
