7. 2011 Denver Broncos

The first team on this list with a playoff victory to their names, the 2011 Denver Broncos are most fondly remembered for the heroics of quarterback Tim Tebow. After beginning the year 1-4 behind starting QB Kyle Orton, the Broncos turned to Tebow at the bye week and he rallied the team seven wins out of the next eight including three in overtime.

Unfortunately, the Broncos suffered three straight losses to end the regular season with just an 8-8 record. This was good enough for the team to still win the AFC West and host a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers where the Tebowmania magic struck once again in Denver’s 29-23 overtime victory. They would lose to the New England Patriots 45-10 the next week, putting an end to the Cinderella story.
