Doug Wilson, D (1991-93)
Wilson only spent two years in San Jose, but he was the first captain in franchise history. He finished with 48 points (12 goals and 36 assists). Wilson served as the Sharks’ general manager from 2003-22.
Erik Karlsson, D (2018-present)
Karlsson was traded to San Jose before the start of the 2018-19 season. He’s recorded 184 points (39 goals and 145 assists) for the Sharks since then. He also became the highest-paid defenseman in NHL history after signing an eight-year, $92 million deal in 2019.
