Age: 17

Sports participated in: Competitive Cheerleading

Years in current sport: 6

Team: Bay City Western Varsity Competitive Cheerleading

School: John Glenn High School

What are your personal goals and athletic dreams?

Bella Glumm: I would like to cheer in college depending on which university I choose to go to. A personal goal I’ve had is to cheer for Michigan State’s coed cheerleading team.

What is your biggest challenge in your sport, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Glumm: My biggest challenge in cheerleading is being completely confident in tumbling. I am very hard on myself so I always want to be perfect, but I am learning that you just have to have confidence in yourself and believe you can do the hard skills.

What has being a member of a team taught you?

Glumm: Being a member of a team has taught me how to be a leader and that you cannot succeed alone and have to lean on each other to accomplish goals. At every practice and competition, I learn valuable life lessons that have made me a better person and I will take that with me throughout life.

What do you like to do outside of your sport?

Glumm: Outside of cheer, I like to spend my time with my friends and family, and I love going shopping.

What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach or mentor?

Glumm: To always push to get better everyday, give 110%, and that you need to have positive self talk and encourage yourself into accomplishing your goals.
