What is your biggest challenge in your sport, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Castelluzzo: To stay conditioned and keeping a healthy body by eating good foods and working out.

What was the best advice you were ever given?

Castelluzzo: To not let my mistakes bother how I play.

What do you love about your sport?

Castelluzzo: I love how basketball is a combination of many things and how you have to react in the moment rather than knowing what could happen next.

Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?

Castelluzzo: I drink a lot of water before every game and think about everything I need to do in the game.

What do you like to do outside of your sport?

Castelluzzo: I like to hang out with friends or workout.

What has being a member of a team taught you?

Castelluzzo: That everyone has to communicate and that everyone makes mistakes as a team.

What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach or mentor?

Castelluzzo: To stop overthinking everything I do.

Describe a mistake you made while competing and how you overcame it.

Castelluzzo: I kept letting the opposite team run by me when I was defending and I fixed that by running to where the opposite team would be so I could already be in front of them.

Anything else you’d like to add:

Castelluzzo: I have improved so much each year I have played basketball and have made so many friends.

We wish you the best of luck Ava in the rest of your season and basketball career! Keep grinding.
